WHAT IS INCLUDED

– You will observe the pastry chefs at work in their workshops;

– You will learn how to make the basic dough for the Martorana Fruit starting from the raw materials, give it the desired shape and paint it realistically;

– You will learn how to prepare the Ova Murina from the creation of the batter to that of a milkly velvety cream;

– You will learn how to knead and glaze the delicious cucchitelle;

– Tasting of various desserts prepared.

A journey to discover the famous Sicilian Cassata and the typical desserts of Sciacca.

 

The almonds of our land are the main characters of this journey, and you will learn how to use them in the various sweets.

 

Our pastry chefs will reveal to you our grandmothers’ secrets to make the Martorana fruit which was born in 1500 when the nuns of the Convent of the Martorana in Palermo painted the sweets to embellish the fruit trees of their garden for a special occasion in autumn. The ova murina and cucchitelle are typical desserts of Sciacca and they were also invented in the convents from the wise hands of the nuns.
